I have known and hunted with Mike Johnson for over 35 years. He is as honest as anyone you'll ever meet. I've been hunting and training dogs for over 50 years. Mike is one of the best dogmen & breeders I've ever known. I've never come across a harder hunter.

Having been born and raised in Ohio, played 4 years for the Buckeyes, spent 8 years of my NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings, I've come to have a strong dislike for Michigan. Despite my dislike for Michigan, several years ago I developed a friendship with the Johnson family, this has led to an annual Western hunting trip with Mike and his dogs.

As hard as it is for me to give Michigan any credit; He has outstanding dogs. I've hunted all my life and never seen better. They have been truely exceptional every time I've hunted with them. If Mike could shoot as well as his dogs hunt, no pheasant in North Dakota would be safe.
