In 2010 I got back into beagle field trials at the instistance of some friends and my grandsons, along with the desire to compete again. I had spent the previous 10 years developing my kennel of shorthairs. I didn’t have any beagles at the time. I started back with a 10 month old female and seven pups. I ran them hard and began evaluating. Since that day in 2010, I have entered 6 of those dogs in licensed AKC trials. All 6 have licensed places among those I have:
1 – International Field Champion
2 - AKC Field Champions
2 – AKC National Champions
This was all accomplished by 2015.
To anyone who doesn’t think this is a huge accomplishment – I invite you to try it.
Additionally, I have been a licensed AKC Field Trial Judge for years. I judged the AKC National Championship in Hardwick, Vermont in 2016 and recently judged the 15" male class at the 2021 AKC National Championship in Bleecker, New York.
